My Sleeping Angel (a Contest)

Captain Hook Taking a Snooze

So this is my first time ever, entering a contest…but as you know if you’ve been reading this here blog for any length of time, I take a lot of pictures of Beau sleeping. He’s just too cute, I can’t help it. In fact, last year, I just about took at least one picture a month of him sleeping! The difficult part of this was choosing which picture to submit!

So anyways, 5 Minutes for Mom is holding a contest where you can submit a photo of your sleeping angel, and if you win, you’ll receive the bedroom set of your choice. ( I really like the Summer Breeze set!) So, if you feel like playing, click on over there!

Tag, Amongst Other Things

Me as I Am
Heather tagged me for this meme, and I thought it was a fun one, and different take on the usual, so I did it.

The rules: take a picture of yourself right now. Don’t change your clothes, don’t fix your hair–just take a picture. Post that picture with NO editing. Post these instructions with the picture.

Soooo….bwahahaha…who shall I tag….
Steph
Tonya
and Bethany
and Kevin!
Have fun!

And on to other things…

The Big Ol' Footbrace

Yeah. I finally went to the doctor after a sleepless night of pain. My whole calf and foot felt like they were going to fall off. Other types of moving would send shots of burning pain up my leg and into my foot. So, fearing that it may be broken, and definitely not wanting to injure it worse (I have to be able to snowboard this year you know!) I went to go get it checked out. It’s not broken, thank goodness, but it is quite the sprain. Soooo, now I have to wear this big ol’ thing, which I feel ridiculous about, but my foot felt much much better the first night, so it’s worth it. And there you have it.

Drew and Selah Watching TV Together
Just for cuteness sake. Drew and Selah were sitting on the couch together, watching TV. I just wanted to catch the moment of brotherly/sisterly harmony. It didn’t last long. 😉

7 Days: Day 7 Looking Through the Glass

7 Days: Day 7 Looking Through the Glass

Held a glass up to the lens and click- this is what I got. Phew! Can’t believe another run of 7 Days is over. It was a blast as usual, but this time held a little more intrigue for me, because my mom and my hubby decided to join in. It was really fun to see the ideas of people I know in real life. Who knows, maybe next time, I’ll persuade some of you to join…

7 Days: Day 6

7 Days: Day 6

Somehow… I managed to get all the kids to look at the camera at the same time. Maybe it was the tree, which is definitely more their venue than mine. Definitely a bit of miracle. Hee hee.

Jury duty was interesting this morning. We were all excused after 2 hours. Apparently the issue that needed to be settled was between a landlord and a tenant, and a jury was needed to decide whether the the tenant could remain on the property or not (until they decided whether it was lawful to evict the tenant or not.) Well, the tenant decided they did not want to stay at the residence either way, so they didn’t need us anymore. Either way, it was very interesting, and the next time I get called I will at least know what to expect.

7 Days: Day 5 “Public/Private”

7 Days: Day 5 Public/Private

Today’s theme was “Public/Private”… I really struggled with coming up with a good idea for this one. So anyways…after a long day of inaction, this is finally what I came up with. Yes, that is Selah’s hand in my mouth. She often plays with my hair and face while she is nursing. Mouth=private. Selah’s view of my mouth=public.

I must get to bed tonight… I have jury duty tomorrow. Oy.

Menu

We didn’t cook everything on my menu-plan for last week- and still have the ingredients…so they will be added to this weeks menu. I kind of like when it ends up this way, because not only does it save money, but I don’t have to go the grocery store as often. If I work it right…I may not have to go the grocery store at all this week. (However, it is harvest season here, tomatoes, peaches and apples are in full swing as well as many other things- so I will probably end up at a vegetable/fruit stand at some point.)

Monday: Pesto Pizzas with a Mesclun Salad
Tuesday: Portabello and zucchini tacos
Wednesday: Burritos as per usual
Thursday: Lighter Chicken and Biscuits
Friday: Possibly camping? Hamburgers…
Saturday: Vegetable spaghetti
Sunday: Leftovers…

Lunches and snacks: (as I write this, I realize I will have to make a trip to the store for such things…oh well…) roast beast sandwiches, smoothies, salads, soup

7 Days: Day 2 “Action”

7 Days: 2 "Action"

"……and ACTION!!!"
"Cut, cut!"

I cannot take credit for this one…I was discussing not having any original ideas for the theme today with my brilliant husband, and he came up with this idea and graciously extended it to me. Then he helped me with setting up my shot and the flash, and all that tech stuff that I’m not so great at. I did however set the timer, push the button, and raise my eyebrow… I’m excited at the possibility of learning some great tools from him this time around. Let’s hope I actually retain them! Ha!

7 Days: Day 1

7 Days: Day 1 Very Bruised Foot

Here is my first portrait of the week, a good look at my bruised up foot. You can’t see all of the color of the bruise here, but it covers near 3/4 of my foot! And yes…I bruise very easily. I often find bruises that I cannot account for, and wonder if any time ever goes by that I do not have a bruise somewhere on my body. And being the occasional klutz, as I am, does not help!

Here is another look at it from the top.
Another Shot of Bruised Foot
As a good friend used to say… “Geez o peets!”

As for 7 Days there is still time left (in America anyways) to join the group if you like! Lots of fun I tell you!
