Today

I woke up with a headache. That has been happening too often lately. BUT, this headache had not reached migraine proportions yet, and I was able to manage it by taking some ibuprofen, drinking lots of liquids and breathing. (I’m trying to become more conscious of my breathing, realizing that I hold my breath a lot… not good!) So what started out as a somewhat hopeless day, is turning out to be really nice. And after I get done with my laundry…

Laundry!

I plan on being a little crafty. After having a sewing machine (that my grandmother-in-law so generously gave to me) for over three years now, I finally took a beginning sewing class at a good friend of mine’s store. I’m so excited! Of course, I feel like I could sew anything now… Ha ha! Actually, I’m just inspired to be able to cultivate a skill that will allow me to do all sorts of things that normally I’d have to pay too much money for at a store (and still not get exactly what I want!) I’m just starting with pillowcases…

Crafty!
(sorry for the fuzzy iPhone photo)

Isn’t that fabric the cutest! I plan on kind of using it as jumping off point for designing a cute room for my two girls-fun!

Fun Fabric!

We’ll also be hanging out in the back yard today, as long as it doesn’t get too windy. Enjoying the garden I just planted…

Baby garden

Lots of dill left over from left year (I guess it IS technically a weed.) and peppers, grape and cherry tomatoes, basil, strawberries and lobelia flowers just for beauty.

Also just flowers in my pots this year…

Purple Petunias and Mellow Marigolds

Kevin and I decided to take a leap and buy a share in a local CSA (That’s community supported agriculture) this year. It’s basically a big ol’ garden, and every week for about 18 weeks through the growing season, you get a family sized share of the harvest. I’m SOOOO excited to get to eat local, organic produce this summer and fall! We are going to really be enjoying our food! (And HOPEFULLY the weather is kind to us.) We will get our first share here on the 7th of June. Can’t wait!

Tonight I’m planning on making an Asian inspired feast. A yummy soup, edamame, veggie eggrolls and a lite chicken stir fry.

It’s gonna be a good day, no matter which direction it goes!

Dramatic

As you can see, B has developed quite the personality these days. It all started with he and D posing with their tinker-tot swords. Then it quickly devolved into what you see above… Beau acting out
Watch out! all the scenes in witch he meets his doom, with a dramatic flair. I couldn’t help but giggle as he posed for each of these shots, and then ran to look at each picture after I took it. What a goof-ball!

Singin’ and Dancin’ Girl

Future Cheerleader

This pic was taken a while back (notice the longer bangs?), but too cute not to share. S has been doing her own performances lately, this being one of them. She likes to dance and sing, and generally make noise. The other day, she even grabbed the children’s acoustic guitar we have and sat down and strummed while she serenaded Kevin. She has such a sweet personality, and a soft little voice. (She still gets into more than her share of trouble though!) She’s finally starting to talk more and even began counting and pointing out colors to me recently. We are still working with her on using words instead of fussing for things, and we are also still working on potty training. We are making significant headway in both areas, thank goodness! (I cannot tell you how relieved I will be when I no longer have to buy diapers for any of my children! Ack!)

Siblings

Her she is with her big brothers in her Easter dress… She’s in that stage where she doesn’t often want to smile for the camera…

My Skateboard Babes

Skateboard Babes

Believe it or not, Kev actually took R out for a few turns on the board. (Don’t worry, he’s pretty much an expert skater and uber careful.) She absolutely loved it! Today she squirmed with glee while watching Daddy zip around the cul-de-sac on his board.

I have plans to make a painting from this photo…
I have the inspiration and the idea, now I just need to find the time and the space.
