Hello.  I’m sick, sick, sick today.  I’m not exactly sure what I have, but I am dizzy with a sore throat, fever and full body ache.  At this point, I’m just thankful I can still breath through my nose.  Can I just echo what a few of you have been saying-I’m so ready for all the sickness to leave, it seems like we’ve been battling this off and on for months.

Random Week, Weekend, Whatever…

Hello all. I’m writing again from my parents house.

-Selah is officially the “paper monster”. If there is paper within a five mile radius of her, she will find it and try to eat it. Doesn’t like mush or anything else, but paper-she will eat.

-I have been “researching” schools for Drew, since he will be starting Kindergarten in the fall this year. (YIKES! That was quick!) Went and observed at a school “of choice” here in town. I know I had mentioned several times that I had been thinking about homeschooling, and have decided at this point in time that it would be best for him to attend school. I just know that with my full schedule and hands with all three of the kids at the ages they are at right now, Drew will get a much better education from going to school than he will from me! It took a long time for me to realize that- that it is my responsibility to give him the best education possible, and that does not necessarily mean keeping him at home for now. However, we are definitely looking at what is available to us here and hope to be able to get into one of our public “schools of choice” here.

-Got my hair cut, as in chopped, lopped, ears lowered majorly. Will have to provide photo documentation for that one. 😉

-Did I mention that Selah is full on crawling? Was that not apparent by the “Paper Monster” explanation? Well, yes, she is crawling and highly mobile now, and yeah, I’ve got my work cut out for me. She also likes to eat Legos.

-The vegetarian thing is going well. I haven’t found very many new recipes largely because I just haven’t had much time to look, but I’m hoping to do that soon. So we’ve be eating a lot of the same. Beans and pasta and portabello mushrooms. We definitely notice feeling better and healthier and having more energy. We are not super strict about it though, and have meat at least once a week largely because we do not expect or want our friends and family to have to cater to our new diet, nor do we want to distance ourselves socially as a result of our diet either. That would not be healthy!

7 Days, Day 7 Before and After

7Days, Day 7 Before and After

This is the last shot of me this week. I thought it’d be fun to do a before make-up, after make-up (and hair) shot. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there really isn’t that much difference between the two. I guess if I really wanted to see a difference, I should snap a shot before I get into the shower, with all yesterdays make-up and a rats nest in my hair! Ha ha!

Anyways, this has been a lot of fun, and I’d like to think I’ve learned a little bit more about my camera and shooting with it. I know I’ve stretched my creativity a bit, and that makes me really happy. I’ve also been witness to a lot of other great photography this week. I’m looking forward to the next go round, and hopefully some of you will jump on the bandwagon with me!

7 Days, Day 3: Peace (not Peace Out)

For those of you who might be wondering what all this 7 Days business is about, 7 Days is a Flickr group where each of the members takes a self portrait for a week, and posts the portrait for each day to the group.  We all look at each others photos and make comments and such.  It’s a really fun group, and a great creative boost for a week.  You don’t have to be a professional photographer to join, you just have to be able to take pictures of yourself.  The group is in full swing of our Spring session right now, but I imagine there will be another session come summertime if you’re at all interested and would like to join.  I’ll be sure to say something about it then  (making mental post-it right now.)

7 Days, Day 3 Peace (not Peace Out)

So I just about missed the deadline for the photo yesterday, as I had quite the hectic day.  But my Mac saved me- and here I have this little self portrait.  Hopefully today will be a little smoother.  (cue the little voice in the back of my head, “Ha ha, that’s what YOU think.”)

Thank God it’s Knitting Night!

EDITED- to say, that after all that…Knitting night got canceled, which bummed me out, but all was not lost!  I was rescued by Kev, who took me out of the house and a nice and harmonious evening was  had by all. : )
Oh my holy, H.E. double hockey sticks! I need a break! I’m complaining…big time, so if you don’t want to hear/read it… turn away, turn away now! I’m so weary of big messy house, annoying noisy toys, bickering children, and poop rubbed into the carpet! Aaaagh!

Last week, I did not go to the pottery studio, as is the normal routine for me on Wednesday night, because I was 1.sick 2. did not want to get others sick 3.sick. Anyways- nothing was done to replace my much relied upon ALONE time. Well, not alone, so much as on my own, but anyways. Then I had family staying with us for the weekend, and Beau’s birthday party to be had on Sunday. Now I have a very messy house, piles and piles of laundry, dishes, and poop rubbed into the carpet. I’m so very annoyed. And the kids keep asking me if daddy is coming home for lunch. I don’t know, but if you ask me that one more time, my brain is going out to lunch.

Anyways, she says with a big sigh, I feel a little bit better now. Thanks for letting me blow off some steam. Sometimes it’s all just a little too much to take- and you just have to let it out. Here’s to a trouble free week for all of us…bwahahahahaha…yeah right!
